What is PSL?

The Pakistan Super League is a professional cricket league for men Twenty20, sanctioned by the Pakistan Cricket Board, which represents the highest level sport in Pakistan. The league was founded in Lahore on September 8, 2015 and currently consists of 6 teams. Instead of functioning as an independent team association, the league is a unique entity in which each franchise is owned and controlled by investors. The commercial rights of the original concessionaires were sold for US $ 93 million during a period of 10 years in December 2015.

Are foreign players taking part?


The five foreign players from the Quetta Gladiator team withdrew. Among them, the English trio Kevin Pietersen, Luke Wright and Tymal Mills, the South African Rilee Rossouw and the New Zealander Nathan McCullum. According to reports, the five are Caribbean captain Darren Sammy, Englishman Dawid Malan, Samit Patel and Chris Jordan, and Jamaican Marlon Samuels.The management of PSL has drawn up a list of international players willing to choose between the two teams. An additional bonus of over $ 10,000 would be offered to these players to play in Pakistan.But critics say the names on the list are mostly "abandoned, retired or unknown" players whose influence in the introduction of international cricket in Pakistan is likely to be negligible.

Where is the final taking place?

It will be played in Lahore, where the PSL headquarters are located. The security clearance for the match was given by the government.The match will be only the second in which international players will participate on Pakistani soil for several years.International teams stopped visiting Pakistan after an attack on the Sri Lankan team that visited Lahore in 2009.An exception was the tour of the Zimbabwean team in 2015, which was also ruined by a suicide attack outside the door of the second ODI site in which some people were killed.Meanwhile, Pakistan has played all its local international cricket in the UAE, including the PSL that was established in 2015 and played its first season last year.The PCB has decided to establish PSL not only for commercial reasons, but also to provide local cricketers with a platform to connect with international cricket.This year's PSL was also played in the UAE, but PCB decided to hold the final in Lahore as a step in their efforts to bring international cricket to Pakistani soil.

The makes-up of PSL 2018 squads: The writing process of the third edition of the Pakistan Super League, to be played in 2018, was held at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on Sunday, November 12.This edition will have six teams, with the addition of a new franchise called Multan Sultans. Shoaib Malik and Tom Moody were respectively announced as captain and coach of the team.The five titular teams were able to keep nine players each.
