The writing process of the third edition of the Pakistan Super League, to be played in 2018, was held at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on Sunday, November 12.This edition will have six teams, with the addition of a new franchise called Multan Sultans. Shoaib Malik and Tom Moody were respectively announced as captain and coach of the team.The five titular teams were able to keep nine players each. The new franchise, Multan Sultans, was allowed to choose, without any drivers, nine pre-project players pool player released from other franchises in preparation for the current project. A total of 501 players (308 foreigners and 193 locals) were part of the draft. The franchises were allowed to choose a player from each of the platinum, diamond and gold categories, while selecting two each on the win list and emerging players to stack their team with a maximum of 20 players.
Each team had a grant of $ 1.2 million. Platinum players will win between $ 140,000 and $ 200,000. Players in the Diamond category had a minimum prize of $ 70,000, while players in the Gold category had a minimum prize of $ 50,000. The minimum limit for Silver and Emerging Class players was $ 22,000 and $ 10,000, respectively.
